A wedding of unusual interest to Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.) and surrounding country took place Wednesday morning when Helen Kronschnabl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kronschnabl, became the wife of Carl Mertens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hy Mertens, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Rev. P. Pitzenberger officiating.

The bride was becomingly attired in a lovely navy blue chiffon velvet gown, a dainty contrasting metallic hat and carried a beautiful arm bouquet of roses and carnations. The bridesmaid, her sister Mildred, wore a lovely colorful peach dress of flat crepe and a becoming hat to match, and also had an arm bouquet of roses and carnations. The groom and his best man, George Mertens, his brother, were dressed in conventional blue.

After the ceremony they returned to the bride’s home where the wedding dinner was served to the immediate relatives of the contracting parties. The house was decorated to fit the occasion with pink and white streamers and flowers. The assemble guests spent a very pleasant afternoon together. After dinner the bridal party autoed to Medford to have their pictures taken.

In the evening they gave a dance for their many friends at Heinzel’s Hall. The entrance of the bridal party was very pretty and effective, five or six couple, all near relatives of either bride or groom, formed a lane through which the bridal party marched in and opened the dance. At midnight a large company of friends went to the Kronschnabl home where they partook of a bounteous supper.

Helen is the second oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kronschnabl and has spent all her life in Dorchester, she graduated from the high school here and has since worked in the telephone office, a pleasant, popular young lady and we are sure Carl picked a winner. Carl, too, has spent his life in Dorchester and Dorchester country and is possibly as well known and as popular as his bride. We’re not missing it much when we say all of Dorchester and surrounding country join us in wishing them "bon voyage" on life’s sea.

The out of town guests here for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mertens, Alfred Mertens and Loretta Werner, all of Milwaukee, Miss Adeline Andre of Athens and Mrs. Herman Kronschnabl of Crandon.
